Windows menu bar disappears (1.3.1)

Postby broozer » Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:18 am

I don't know whether it is intentional, but whenever installing RText 1.3.1 the 'full page mode' automatically hides the windows menu bar. At least for me this is not the desired way of working.

Since I use RText as my only editor, I already experienced on 3 different machines. For the rest, again thank you very much for sharing this program with us.

What do you mean by "full page mode"? Can you provide a screenshot?

Dear Robert,

Don't know how to include an image.
What I mean is that when you click on the 'maximise' button - top right, the rtext screen takes all available space of your screen , hiding the menubar from view. In order to view the menubar again you have to minimise RText. I tried with the 'autohide' menu option, but the problem remains.
Hope this helps.

With best wishes,
Wim

Now I'm unfortunately even more confused - where is the "autohide" option in RText?

Can you send a screenshot to robert -at- thisdomain . com (replacing "thisdomain" with fifesoft)? Also, what OS are you using?

Dear Robert,

Sorry for the confusion : the autohide option is for the Windows menu, operating system is Windows 7. I sent you the pic by separate mail.

With best wishes,
Wim

Looks like you got the domain wrong ("filesoft" instead of "fifesoft").

Very strange. I can't reproduce it here (on Vista). I also don't handle that resize event myself, it's done by AWT. Are you using the latest JDK (1.6.0_22 I believe)?

Dear Robert,

Java 1.6.0_22 b04 is the currently installed version . I searched a little but could not find someone else reporting this problem in Windows 7 with AWT. I guess my local settings are to blame ... Thx anyways.
