Spell Check

Postby Deepak » Wed Jan 27, 2010 8:38 am

hi,

How to add spell check for RSyntaxTextArea.

In eclipse the CTRL + mouse click on the variable goes to the variable declaration part; it is possible in RSyntaxTextArea.

The SpellChecker add-on is part of the RSyntaxTextArea project on SourceForge. Go here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/rsyntaxtextarea/files/

and grab rsta_spellchecker_1.4.0.zip (or rsta_spellchecker_1.4.0_Source.zip). The source zip is probably better, as I know it has a demo program showing off the usage of the library. That demo is probably in the README of the binary zip as well. I plan on creating a blog entry showing how to use the spell checker this weekend.

This isn't possible out-of-the-box. RSTA doesn't understand the semantics of the programming language it is colorizing.

I'm working on Java language support (code completion, etc.) that would (possibly) stand a fighting chance of supporting this one day, but it's definitely not a priority.
