On your CompletionProvider, in order to make the popups appear on "regular" characters (i.e. not just "."), you'll need to call:

provider.setAutoActivationRules(true, "._")

This tells the system to display the completion choices on all letters and digits, as well as "." and "_".

So I have a couple of problems regarding AutoCompletion, I have the following:

java code:

AutoCompletion ac = new AutoCompletion(provider);
ac.setShowDescWindow(true);
ac.setAutoCompleteSingleChoices(true);
ac.setAutoActivationEnabled(true);
ac.setAutoCompleteEnabled(true);
ac.setTriggerKey(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke("control SPACE"));
ac.setAutoActivationDelay(500);
ac.install(editor);

From what I read on the website its supposed to show the auto complete window when you stop typing for 1/2 second, but no window pops up. What am I doing wrong?

Also when I write a token next to a parenthesis or any similar it doesn't recognize it, is there a way around this?

Thanks for reading,
Debels.
