RSyntaxTextArea 1.5.0 Released!

Just a belated note that RSyntaxTextArea 1.5.0 was released a little bit ago on SourceForge.  Updates to the AutoComplete library are included as well, not to mention a (still Subversion-access only) new, 0.7-release of RSTALanguageSupport.  Download ‘em today!

Some highlights of the improvements include:

There are a couple of very minor things that might spur a 1.5.1 release pretty quickly, but this is a worthy upgrade from 1.4.x in and of itself.

Expect a new RText release pretty soon to showcase all of these new features!

Would it be possible to have the jars uploaded to Maven with each new release? I’d really like to have a newer Autocomplete up there (current is 1.4.1).

I’m personally a Maven dummy, but I emailed the guy who’s updated RSyntaxTextArea and friends’ Maven artifacts in the past. Hopefully he can get 1.5.0 (and 1.4.2, seems to be missing too) uploaded soon. Thanks for pinging me about that!

I have a question that relates to an old post of yours. I’ve recently been tasked with creating an eclipse plugin that highlights java identifiers and brings up a Eclipse-style tooltip, one with links and formatted info. The links need to replace text like Eclipse’ spellchecker would. I’m having a very difficult time finding the classes I need to use to:
    1) Access the text of a Java view (pretty sure I need to use a builder?)
    2) Highlight specific text
    3) bring up a tool-tip on hover-over
    4) make that tool-tip fancy and have text replacement options.

If you have any suggestions or places you could point me (the eclipse API documentation has been helpful and also not helpful) I would greatly appreciate it!

@James: 1.5.0 is now in Maven!

@Austin: Sorry, but I unfortunately don’t know much about writing Eclipse plugins. RSyntaxTextArea is written in Swing, whereas Eclipse is written in SWT/JFace. RSTA simply borrows all of its appearance ideas from the latter. :)
